LIke most authors, I have stories that have never been published or that were published so long ago that they're no longer available in print. Instead of leaving them languishing in a drawer, I've put them here so you can read them. They are all in pdf format.
The White Horse
This magical tale about a white horse was the first story I ever had published. It appeared in a magazine for pony-mad children.
I have been fascinated by the Pony Express for a long time, and one of my ambitions is to follow the route the riders took over the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This story is about the very first ride of the Pony Express when a snowstorm nearly stopped the service just as it had started. It's fiction based on fact.
Kissing is Yucky
This is my twist on the traditional tale of Sleeping Beauty, and it grew from the question "What would happen if the prince didn't like kissing?" That would mess up the Good Fairy's plan to make him break the spell by kissing the princess, so Kissing is Yucky is the story of how she solves the problem. I love writing about these fairies which is why I put them in my pantomime.
The Real Christmas
A tale about an old priest who has lost his love of Christmas until... But I'm not going to give away the ending. You'll have to read it to find out.
I wrote this pantomime script for our local amateur theatre group and couldn't resist including the fairies from Kissing is Yucky. If you would like to perform the panto, please make a donation to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust instead of paying royalties.
